Orlando G. Florete, Jr, MD, has received numerous scholarships and awards, among them the Winthrop Stearns Scholarship Award and the Community Service Award from the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. In 2011, Dr. Florete was recognized by the International Association of Anesthesiologists as one of the Leading Physicians of the World.

Dr. Florete is a highly esteemed and frequently invited speaker at both national and international symposia, lecturing on pain management and treatment algorithms.He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the American Academy of Pain Management, American Society of Anesthesiologists, International Anesthesia Research Society, the American Pain Society, the Florida Academy of Pain Management, and others; he is a life member of the Winthrop Stearns Fellows and Scholars Association. Dr. Florete's research has been extensively published, with numerous book chapters and journal articles to his credit, as well as abstracts and teaching materials.

Dr. Florete received his medical degree from the Cebu Institute of Medicine in Cebu City, Philippines.He performed his internship and residency at the University of Philippines College of Medicine as well as a residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. His postgraduate training includes fellowships in cardiology (University of Philippines) and critical care medicine (University of Florida) as well as additional pain management training at the University of Virginia and the University of Kentucky for his board certification.

 Jawed Hussain, M.D.

Dr. Jawed “Jay” Hussain has been with Institute of Pain Management since 2001 as a senior staff physician. He is Board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a diplomate of both the American Academy of Pain Management and the American Board of Forensic Examiners. He is a former Director of Genesis Rehabilitation Hospital (now Brooks) as well as a clinical instructor with the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. His experience in these areas as well as his proficiency in neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic medicine make Dr. Hussain a real asset to our patient’s compassionate care.

Dr. Francisco (Frank) Judilla

Dr. Judilla joined the Institute of Pain Management in May 2014. He completed his residency at Newark Beth Israel Regional Medical Center in Newark, NJ. He practiced anesthesia and pain management  for many years in Kansas prior to moving to Jacksonville.  He is a member of the Society for Pain Practice Management. He is board eligible in anesthesiology. Dr Judilla enjoys the symphony, gardening , fishing, antiques, and computers.

 Jody Crisostomo, PA-C

Jody Crisostomo comes to us with an sound foundation of clinical , diagnostic and communicative skills obtained in his career as a physician assistant. His training and subsequent employment at the Neurometric Laboratory and Department of Neurosurgery pain clinic at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Maryland was the basis for his pain management skills, to not only include a wide range of interventional procedures, but also electrodiagnostic medicine, morphine pump maintenance and adjustment, dorsal column stimulator maintenance and adjustment as well as first and second assistant in the OR.
 George Robinson, PA-C

George completed his physician assistant training at the University of Florida in 1982. He has extensive experience with his chosen field of electrodiagnostic medicine to include a range of different specialties and is particularly well versed in patient care in the field of pain management and neurology. His expert administration of this type of testing to confirm nerve involvement in a patients pain profile is a sought after skill. George joined our team in 2008.

Segundo (Steve) Huerta, DPT

Steve has been with our practice several years in the physical therapy department as a certified athletic trainer. He recently completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of St Augustine and graduated with honors. He has focused his rehabilitation and pain management therapies specifically to our chronic pain patients, recognizing that this patient population has pain related limitations,  and teaches home exercises and self treatment, as well as instructing the patients in regards to proper durable medical equipment usage, proper nutrition ,and lifestyle choices  to maximize their therapeutic benefits.  Steve has been married to his wife Erica for eight years and in his spare time enjoys working out, camping, and playing with his dog Ricky.

Sanford M. Silverman, MD 

Sanford M. Silverman, MD, comes to our practice after many years as president and CEO of Comprehensive Pain Medicine, located in Pompano Beach, Florida. He is board certified in anesthesiology with added qualifications in Pain Management from the American Board of Anesthesiology and a Diplomate in Pain Medicine from the American Board of Pain Medicine. He is also a Diplomate in Addiction Medicine from the American Board of Addiction Medicine. His practice consists of interventional and medical treatment of chronic pain, the treatment of various addictive disorders, and currently has an interest in treating complex chronic pain with hyperalgesia.

After receiving his bachelor and master degrees from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, Dr. Silverman earned his medical degree from New York Medical College. He then entered active duty military service with the US Army and completed a transitional internship at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco, California. He then completed a residency in anesthesiology at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. After completing his training, he served as Major, US Army and Chief of the Anesthesia and Operative Service at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas where he also was the director of the pain clinic. He was also Assistant Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, El Paso, Texas.

The author of articles and letters in publications such as Anesthesiology, the Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia, the Canadian Journal of Anesthesiology and Pain Physician. Dr. Silverman has lectured nationally on topics including interventional pain management, controlled substance management and addiction issues, prescription drug abuse, and in the area of forensic medicine. Dr. Silverman is also the author of a new book on opioids and pain management entitled Controlled Substance Management in Chronic Pain: A Balanced Approach.

Dr. Silverman is a founding partner of Lorsand CME, LLC, a company devoted to continuing medical education in areas of pain and substance abuse. He lectures at the Controlled Substance Management course, which is sponsored by the American Society of Interventional Physicians and is a core requirement for board certification in Interventional Pain Medicine.

He is a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and American Academy of Pain Medicine, Florida Academy of Pain Medicine, International Spine Intervention Society, American Society of Addiction Medicine, Florida Society of Addiction Medicine, Florida Medical Association and Broward County Medical Association. He is also a clinical assistant professor of Anesthesiology in the dept. of surgery at NOVA Southeastern University school of Osteopathic Medicine and a Voluntary Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine.

Dr. Silverman is on the board of directors of the Broward County Medical Association and serves on the Board of Governors of the Broward County Commission on Substance Abuse, which is devoted to preventing prescription medication abuse, diversion, and substance abuse. He has served on the Broward County Commission's Pain Clinic Task Force established to determine feasibility of moratoriums on pain clinics in the county and the creation of countywide ordinance to regulate them. We welcome his expertise. Dr Silverman will continue to see patients at the Pompano Beach location only at this time.
